Platinum pave rings set a band of small lab-grown diamond accents in naturally white platinum. Many designs add a halo, many are solitaires, and others offer vintage milgrain, toi et moi pairs, split shanks or side stones. Most designs take a round, oval, cushion, pear, emerald, radiant, heart, marquise, princess or Asscher center.

Platinum is dense and naturally white, so it needs no plating to stay bright. When platinum is scratched, the metal mostly moves aside instead of wearing away, which helps the small beads that hold each pave accent last. Over time it develops a soft satin look that a polish brings back. It is heavier on the finger than gold, which many people like in an engagement ring.
Listed band widths run from about 1.8 to 3 mm.
Many designs also take a fancy blue, green, yellow or pink center, and some take black. Platinum pave engagement rings here start under $1,000, and most cost between about $1,700 and $2,250 for the setting. The center is chosen and priced in the next step.
