Buying guide
A twisted band wraps two or more strands of metal around each other. Plain rope and ribbon twists keep the look simple and let the center stand out. Pave twists set lab-grown diamond accents along one or both strands for more sparkle. Crossover and bypass twists sweep the strands around the center, and split shank twists open into two strands near the top. Some designs add a halo, marquise side stones or a floral vine.
A twist has more edges and crossing points than a straight band, so the metal needs to hold up. Platinum is dense and durable, and it stays naturally white without plating. It wears to a soft satin finish over time, which a polish brings back to a bright shine. Some designs list a band width from about 1.8 to 2.5 mm.
Every design here takes a white center, and most also take a fancy pink, blue, yellow or green center; some take a black center too. You choose the center's shape, size and color in the next step. Prices shown are for the setting only, starting at about $1,150, with most between about $2,050 and $2,350. The center is priced when you choose it.
