A split shank bezel engagement ring sets your chosen center in a smooth metal rim on a band that divides into two as it reaches the stone. The settings here are bezel solitaires, so the shape of the band does the work. Every setting takes round, oval, cushion, emerald, princess, radiant, asscher, marquise, pear and heart centers, in white, yellow or rose gold, platinum, or Silvadium, a tarnish-resistant sterling silver.

Buying guide
The shank is the band of a ring. In a split shank, the band separates into two strands on each side of the center, leaving a small open space between them. That split widens the ring near the stone, so the center looks fuller and better supported, while the back of the band stays slim and comfortable. It also adds a sense of structure without needing extra stones.
A bezel surrounds the center with a thin wall of metal, holding it securely and protecting its edge. Because a bezel shows more metal than prongs, it can look small on a narrow band. The split shank balances it, giving the rim a wider base to sit on. The result is a clean solitaire with a sculpted outline, and a low setting that is easy to wear every day.
White gold and platinum give a sleek, bright frame. Yellow and rose gold make the split lines and bezel rim stand out. Gold comes in 10K, 14K or 18K, and silver is the lowest-cost option. You can choose a fancy blue, pink, yellow or green center in the next step. Settings start from about $500, and most are about $1,850 to $2,050 in gold or platinum; the center is priced when you choose it.
