How a halo changes a round center

A halo is a row of small stones set close around the center. It makes the center look larger from the top and adds sparkle around its edge. Round is the most popular center for a halo, because the circle of accents follows the stone's outline evenly. White gold suits this look well: the bright metal blends with the halo, so the top of the ring reads as one large circle of light.

Halo styles in this collection

  • Pave bands: most designs add lab-grown diamond accents along the band as well as around the center.
  • Vintage and milgrain: many settings use beaded edges, filigree or Art Deco details.
  • Double halo: some settings add a second row of accents for a bigger top.
  • Split shank and floral: the band divides near the center, or the halo takes a petal shape.
  • Bezel and cluster: a few designs set the halo stones in metal rims or clusters.

Metal, center color and price

Every setting comes in 10K, 14K or 18K white gold, so a 14k white gold round halo diamond engagement ring is an easy choice here. Most band widths run from about 1.8 to 2.5 mm. Most designs can also be ordered for a fancy blue, pink, green or yellow center, and some for a black center, chosen in the next step. Prices are for the setting only, from under $650, with most between about $880 and $1,110. The center is priced when you choose it.
