A pear center has a rounded end and a point. The halo traces that shape with small lab-grown diamond accents, which makes the center look larger and protects the point, the most fragile part of a pear. A double halo adds a second outline, and some designs use a beaded, contoured or claw-corner halo for a different edge. Point the tip toward the fingertip or toward the hand; both are worn.
Most settings can be made for a colorless center or a fancy pink, yellow, blue or green center, and some for a black center. Bands are mostly about 1.8 to 2.5 mm wide. Settings start under $650, and most start between about $880 and $1,100. That price is for the setting; the center is priced when you choose it.
