A bezel is a thin rim of metal that wraps around a stone instead of holding it with prongs. It gives a smooth outline, fewer edges to catch on clothing, and extra cover for the stone's edge. In this collection the bezel shows up in different places: a bezel bypass design with side stones, and halo, leaf vine and vintage swirl designs with bezel-set accents on the band or shoulders.
Tanzanite has a deep violet-blue color, and it is softer than sapphire or diamond. A ring worn every day should come off for gym work, gardening and cleaning, and should be washed with mild soap and water. Bezel details reduce snags on the band.
Every design comes in round, oval, cushion, emerald, pear, princess, marquise and heart shapes. You pick the carat weight on the product page, from 1 to 9 carats total weight. Gold comes in 10K, 14K or 18K white, yellow or rose gold, and platinum and silver are also offered. Prices start under $350, and most tanzanite bezel ring designs are between about $750 and $1,350.
