A lab-grown sapphire has the same chemistry, crystal structure and hardness as a natural sapphire. It rates 9 on the Mohs scale, just below diamond, so it stands up well to daily wear on the hand. Lab-grown sapphire costs far less than a natural sapphire of similar size and color, and its color is even from stone to stone.
Every design offers 1 to 9 carats total weight. Gold comes in 10K, 14K or 18K. Prices start from about $320 at the smallest option, and most rings start between about $840 and $1,090.
