On most of these bands the filigree forms the gallery, the side wall below the stones. From the top you see a line of lab-grown diamonds; from the side you see the scroll pattern. That makes a vintage filigree wedding band look delicate up close while still reading as a simple band at a glance.
Shared prong bands hold each lab-grown diamond with prongs it shares with its neighbor, so more of each stone shows. Pave bands set smaller stones close together for a continuous sparkle. Most designs are half eternity, with stones across the top half only, which keeps the band comfortable and easy to resize. A curved band dips at the center to sit against an engagement ring.
Platinum is the hardest-wearing choice for fine openwork. Most gold designs come in 10K, 14K or 18K, in white, yellow or rose. Where a design offers a carat choice, it runs from 0.15 to 0.5 carat total weight. Prices start under $200, and most of these bands fall between about $565 and $790.
