05 — Matching Your Set
Pairing band & engagement ring
- Mind the gap. If your engagement ring has a low-set or distinctive shape, a curved or contoured band will nest flush against it. A straight band suits most solitaires.
- Match — or don't. Matching metals give a seamless look; deliberately mixing (say a rose-gold band with a white-gold ring) is a modern, intentional contrast.
- Balance the sparkle. Pair a diamond-heavy engagement ring with a simpler band, or echo a plain solitaire with a little shimmer. Let one piece lead.

Can a wedding band be resized later?
Most plain and half-eternity bands can be resized. Full eternity bands and channel-set styles generally cannot, because diamonds run the entire band — so get the size right up front.
What width should I choose?
1.5–2.5mm reads delicate and frames a detailed engagement ring; 3mm is a classic all-rounder; 4–6mm feels substantial and is popular for men's bands. Comfort fit makes wider widths easier to wear.
