Choose a single, double or floral halo, most with a pave band, in round, oval, cushion, pear, emerald, princess, marquise or heart, and in white, yellow or rose gold, platinum, or Silvadium, a tarnish-resistant sterling silver.

Buying guide
A single halo is one row of lab-grown diamonds around the center, the cleanest look. A double halo adds a second row for a bigger face and more sparkle. Floral and vintage halos shape the frame into petals, milgrain or a scalloped rim. A halo also guards the edges of the colored gemstone, which helps on softer gems.
Most designs carry pave on the band. Split shank designs divide the band into two strands near the center, and many show openwork galleries, from looped and scalloped to a heart cut-out, seen from the side. Plain and polished bands suit a matching wedding band later.
Lab-grown ruby and sapphire are 9 on the Mohs scale and the hardest choices for daily wear. Aquamarine, blue topaz and lab-grown emerald sit around 7.5 to 8, while amethyst, citrine, garnet, peridot and tanzanite are a little softer and do best with some care.
Every design offers 1 to 9 carats total weight, chosen on the product page. Gold comes in 10K, 14K or 18K, and platinum and silver are offered too. Prices start at about $300, and most gemstone halo engagement rings are between about $800 and $1,000 at their smallest option.
