Floral rings take a few forms here. Some shape the head like a flower, with petal-like prongs or a halo of lab-grown diamonds as the bloom. Amethyst is purple quartz and the February birthstone, rated 7 on the Mohs scale. Raised leaves and petals can catch on knits, so a solitaire or a low halo suits daily wear, while a bold petal design works well for dressier days. Strong sun and heat can fade amethyst slowly. Clean the ring with warm, soapy water and a soft brush, which also reaches into engraved details.
