Baguettes are step-cut stones with long, straight facets. Next to an amethyst, they give clean lines and bright flashes of white light that make the purple look deeper. On these rings the baguettes are lab-grown diamonds. Some designs set them in a channel, between two metal walls, for a smooth band with no prongs to catch. Others taper the baguettes toward the back of the ring, mix them with pave, or place one on each side of the center for a three stone baguette cut amethyst ring.
Amethyst is purple quartz and the birthstone for February. It rates 7 on the Mohs hardness scale, so it suits a ring worn often, though it can scratch against harder stones. The color runs from light lilac to deep violet. Long, strong sunlight and high heat can fade it over time, so take the ring off for saunas and clean it with warm, soapy water and a soft brush.
Every design offers 1 to 9 carats total weight. Gold comes in 10K, 14K or 18K: yellow and rose gold warm up the purple, while white gold, platinum and silver keep the look cool and bright. Prices start under $500, and most rings are between about $1,100 and $1,450 at their smallest option.
Each ring is made for you in 10–15 days. Shipping is free on orders over $500, returns are accepted within 30 days, and one resize is free within 60 days of delivery.
