Engraving cuts shallow lines into the metal to make a pattern. On these sterling silver engraved rings it runs along the sides of the band or around the head, so the detail shows from the side and from above. Most settings pair it with milgrain, a row of tiny metal beads along the edges, and some add floral shoulders or filigree under the center.
Many settings add lab-grown diamond accents in pave. Band widths run from about 1.8 to 2.5 mm where listed.
Silver is softer than gold or platinum, so engraved lines soften slowly with wear; a soft brush keeps the pattern clean. Most settings take fancy blue, pink, yellow or green centers, and some a black center. Settings start under $200, and most cost about $350 to $400.
