A hidden halo is a row of lab-grown diamonds set around the base of the center stone, below the girdle. Looking down, you see the moissanite on its own; from the side, the hidden halo ring adds a line of sparkle. It keeps the top view clean while giving the ring more detail.
Bands run from about 1.8 to 2.5 mm wide, with 2 to 2.2 mm the most common.
Every design offers 1 to 9 carats total weight. Moissanite rates 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale and shows strong fire, the flashes of color you see as the ring moves. Gold comes in 10K, 14K or 18K. Prices start under $350, and most rings are between about $700 and $1,050.
