Buying guide
Pavé covers the band with small stones held by tiny beads of metal, so the surface sparkles from the side and top. Milgrain then runs along the outer edges, framing that sparkle and giving the band a finished, vintage look. Some designs use double milgrain or graduated pavé, where the accents grow larger toward the center.
About half the settings here are halos, with a ring of lab-grown diamond accents around the center and milgrain tracing its outline. The rest are mostly solitaires, where the pavé band and milgrain support one center stone. Some add filigree, floral shoulders, engraving or a hidden halo under the center, and a few are side stone or three stone designs.
Settings come for round, oval, pear, marquise, cushion, princess, emerald, radiant and heart centers, and nearly all for Asscher. Most can hold a fancy blue, yellow, pink or green center. Gold comes in 10K, 14K or 18K. Prices are for the setting only, from under $250 and mostly between about $800 and $1,350; the center is priced when you choose it.
