Filigree Milgrain Engagement Rings

Filigree milgrain engagement rings combine two classic vintage details: openwork scrolls and fine beaded edges. Choose a halo, solitaire, three stone or bezel design, many with pavé lab-grown diamond accents, in white, yellow or rose gold, platinum, or Silvadium, a tarnish-resistant sterling silver. Pick the center shape and color in the next step.

Buying guide

Two details, one vintage look

Filigree gives a ring its lacy openwork, seen in scroll galleries, leaf panels and carved bands. Milgrain outlines those shapes with a line of tiny metal beads, which softens the edges and catches light. Together they recreate the hand-finished look of early 20th century rings.

Styles in this collection

  • Halo: a milgrain-edged frame of lab-grown diamond accents, the most common style here.
  • Solitaire: scrollwork and beading on a band that holds one center.
  • Three stone: a vintage outline with stones beside the center on a few designs.
  • Bezel: the center wrapped in a metal rim edged with milgrain on a few designs.

Metal, wear and price

Gold comes in 10K, 14K or 18K. Milgrain beads are small, so they soften with years of wear; platinum keeps them crisp longest, and a jeweler can refresh them when needed. Settings start under $250, and most fall between about $820 and $1,420. The price is for the setting, and the center is priced when you choose it.
