A bezel wraps metal around the edge of each lab-grown diamond instead of holding it with prongs. That keeps the band smooth, so it is less likely to catch on clothing, and it protects the stones' edges. Milgrain adds a row of small beads along the bezel or the band's edge. The beading softens the outline and gives the band the look of older, hand-finished jewelry.
