Buying guide

What milgrain adds to a pave band

Pave sets many small lab-grown diamonds close together, held by tiny shared prongs, so the band sparkles across its surface. Milgrain is a row of small beads pressed into the metal along the edges or between sections. It frames the pave, softens the band's outline and gives the antique feel that makes these a favorite vintage pave wedding band style.

Straight or curved

Many of the designs are curved or contoured, so they nest against an engagement ring with a raised center or a halo. Straight bands, including double row pave and channel set styles, sit flat and can be worn alone. Some add details such as leaf sides, a chevron with scrollwork, filigree or a ridged profile. All are half eternity bands, with lab-grown diamonds across the top and plain metal underneath for comfort and easier resizing.

Carat weight, metal and price

Most designs offer 0.25, 0.35 or 0.5 carat total weight, the combined weight of all the stones, and a few offer lighter or heavier options. Gold comes in 10K, 14K or 18K on most designs. Bands start from under $200, and most are between about $700 and $990.

Made to order

Each band is made for you in 10–15 days. Shipping is free on orders over $500, returns are accepted within 30 days, and one resize is free within 60 days of delivery.
