A Promise, Perfected

Gold Split Shank Engagement Rings

A gold split shank engagement ring divides the band into two strands as it reaches the center, giving a wider, more open look. These settings come in white, yellow or rose gold, in 10K, 14K or 18K, with halo, pave, solitaire, twisted and three stone designs. Nearly every design fits round, oval, pear, cushion, emerald, princess and other shapes, and each is made to order.

Buying guide

What a split shank does

In a split shank ring, the band splits into two strands near the top and opens around the center. The gap makes the center look larger, gives room for more lab-grown diamond accents, and adds strength where the band meets the head. A split shank gold ring suits larger centers and fingers where a thin band can look lost.

Styles in this collection

  • Halo and double halo: about half the designs frame the center with lab-grown diamond accents.
  • Pave split shank: most designs set lab-grown diamond accents along one or both strands, some graduated toward the center.
  • Solitaire: a plain or rope split shank keeps the focus on the center.
  • Three stone and side stones: a few designs add side stones beside the center.
  • Twisted and bypass: the strands cross or wrap for a softer line.

Shape, gold and price

Nearly every design takes any of ten center shapes, and you can choose a white or fancy color center such as pink, blue, yellow or green in the next step. Every design comes in white, yellow and rose gold, in 10K, 14K or 18K. The price shown is for the setting only, from under $700, with most settings about $1,000 to $1,470. Your center is priced when you choose it.
