A Promise, Perfected

Emerald Cut Channel Set Rings

An emerald cut channel set ring holds lab-grown diamond accents in a groove between two walls of metal, with the rectangular center set above. These engagement ring settings come with round or baguette accents, as solitaires, side stone rings, halos and bezels. You choose the center in the next step. Every design comes in white, yellow or rose gold, platinum, or Silvadium, a tarnish-resistant sterling silver.

How channel setting works

In a channel setting, small stones sit in a row between two metal rails, with no prongs between them. The metal covers the stones' edges, so the band has a smooth surface that rarely snags on clothing. It is a secure choice for daily wear and suits the clean, straight lines of an emerald cut. Channels can hold round accents or step-cut baguettes, which match the emerald cut's long facets.

Styles in this collection

About half the designs are side stone rings, with a channel of accents running down each shoulder. Some are channel set solitaires with a slim row in the band, and others combine pave with channel-set baguettes. You will also find bezel-set centers with channel-set baguette side stones, a cathedral style, a channel set halo, vintage designs with milgrain or filigree, and a three stone ring. Compare an emerald cut channel set engagement ring by how wide the channel is and how far it runs around the band.

Center color, metal and price

Most settings take a colorless center or a fancy pink, blue, yellow or green one, and some are made for a black center. Gold comes in 10K, 14K or 18K. Prices start under $300 for the setting, and most sit between about $1,125 and $1,600; the center is priced when you choose it.
