Cluster side stone rings set small groups of lab-grown diamond accents beside the center instead of a single stone on each side. Clusters may be round, marquise or pear accents, some bezel-set. You choose the center in the next step, in radiant on every design and nine more shapes on most, with white, yellow or rose gold, platinum, or Silvadium, a tarnish-resistant sterling silver.

Buying guide
A classic side stone ring has one or two larger stones flanking the center. Here each side carries a small group instead, which spreads sparkle across the shoulders and makes the top of the ring look wider. Some settings use marquise side stones arranged like leaves, some mix pear and round stones, and others place round clusters on the shoulders. A diamond ring with cluster side stones also gives a slim center more presence.
Some designs add milgrain edges and a vintage frame, some set the clusters in bezels for a smooth, low profile, and a few take a floral or halo form. A plain band keeps attention on the clusters, while a pavé band adds sparkle all the way around.
Every setting takes a radiant center, and most also take round, oval, cushion, princess, emerald, Asscher, marquise, pear and heart. Fancy blue, pink, yellow and green centers are offered on most designs. Gold comes in 10K, 14K or 18K. Settings start under $250, and most are between about $675 and $1,425. That price covers the setting only; the center is priced when you choose it.
