A 3 stone bypass ring sets two side stones beside the center on a band that sweeps past itself. These settings combine the three stone layout with crossover and split shank bands, and some add pavé or a halo of lab-grown diamond accents. Every 3 stone bypass engagement ring comes in white, yellow or rose gold in 10K, 14K or 18K, platinum, or Silvadium, a tarnish-resistant sterling silver, and you choose your center in the next step.

Buying guide
A three stone ring places a matching or contrasting stone on each side of the center. On a bypass band the shank curves past the center instead of meeting it head on, so the three stones sit on a slight diagonal or inside a gentle swirl. The side stones in these settings are lab-grown diamonds; some use marquise side stones, others use side stones that match the center's shape.
Most of these settings split the shank into two strands near the center, which widens the look of the ring and gives the side stones a sturdy base. A crossover style passes the band over itself, and a vintage style adds a halo with milgrain and filigree for a vintage feel. Pavé along the band adds more sparkle on some designs.
Round centers fit every design, and most also take oval, cushion, pear, marquise, emerald, princess, radiant and heart, with Asscher on some. Fancy blue, pink, yellow, green and black centers are offered on some designs. Settings start under $350, and most are between about $950 and $1,500. That price is for the setting only; the center is priced when you choose it.
