A curved ring shapes the band or the accents around the center instead of running them in a straight line. In the contoured halo style, a halo of lab-grown diamond accents frames the center and the pave band dips toward it. In the three stone style, the side stones and pave follow a soft curve on each side of the center, so the ring has a flowing outline from the top.
Each setting comes in round, oval, cushion, pear, emerald, radiant, Asscher, heart, marquise and princess. A curve suits elongated centers like oval, pear and marquise especially well, since the lines carry the eye along the stone. These settings are also drawn for a fancy blue, pink, yellow, green or black center.
10K white gold is the hardest and costs least, 14K is the common middle choice, and 18K holds the most gold. Settings start at about $830 and go to about $1,250. That price is for the setting; the center is priced when you choose it. If you plan to wear a wedding band next to a curved ring, check the ring's profile on the product page first.
