Buying guide
Carat weight is picked on the product page and is the total weight of both lab-grown diamonds in the pair. Most designs offer 0.5 and 1 carat total weight, and many go up to 10 carats. On most designs you can also choose the grade: E–F or F–G color and VVS–VS or VS–SI clarity, and some designs add single grades from D to G color and VVS2, VS1 or VS2 clarity. For everyday studs, around 1 carat total weight is a popular size. Screw backs, offered on some designs, hold larger studs firmly in place.
Prices start under $150, and most pairs are between about $200 and $250 at their smallest size. Lab-grown diamonds cost far less than natural diamonds of the same size, and silver keeps the setting affordable, so a solitaire pair is an easy first set of lab-grown diamond studs or a simple gift.
