In a bypass ring, the two ends of the band pass each other instead of meeting in a straight line, so the band curves around the center. With a princess cut, the soft curves of the band contrast with the stone's square corners. The prongs at each corner protect the points of the princess cut, which are its most exposed edges.
Gold comes in 10K, 14K or 18K. The center can be a white or fancy-color stone, including blue, pink, green and yellow. The price shown is for the setting only: settings start under $200, and most are between about $800 and $1,150. The center is priced when you choose it.
