A bezel is a thin wall of metal that wraps each stone. On a bezel set wedding band in platinum, that rim keeps the lab-grown diamonds low and protected, so the band snags less on clothing and handles daily knocks well. The look is soft and smooth, with a polka-dot line of lab-grown diamonds framed in metal. Some designs mix bezels with prongs or pave for more sparkle.
A half eternity band carries lab-grown diamonds across the top only, which keeps the underside plain and comfortable. A full eternity band sets them all the way around for sparkle from every angle. East-west designs turn oval lab-grown diamonds sideways for a modern look, and a few men's bands use flush-set stones.
Most designs offer about 0.25 to 0.75 carat total weight, a few start at 0.15 carat, and some reach 1 to 1.5 carats. Platinum is dense and wears slowly, which suits the thin metal rims of a bezel. Prices start under $850, and most bands are between about $1,275 and $1,550.
