Buying guide
Milgrain, a row of tiny metal beads along an edge, is on most designs and is the clearest sign of a vintage look. Filigree adds open scrollwork to the band or the basket under the center. Engraved bands carry patterns cut into the metal. Some designs use floral petals or leaf shapes, and some set the center or the accents in bezels for a softer outline. Pavé lab-grown diamond accents appear on many of them.
An art deco pink diamond ring leans on straight lines and geometry: an emerald, asscher or radiant center with a stepped halo or channel-set accents suits it well. A softer, older style uses round, oval or cushion centers with milgrain halos, filigree and floral shoulders. Every design takes a round, oval, cushion, princess, emerald, radiant, asscher, pear, marquise and heart center, so either look can be built around the shape you want.
Gold comes in white, yellow or rose, in 10K, 14K or 18K, and every design is also offered in platinum and in Silvadium, a tarnish-resistant sterling silver. Rose and yellow gold suit the antique feel and warm the pink. White metals give a cooler, deco look.
Settings start under $200, and most are between about $700 and $1,150. That is for the setting; the pink center is priced when you choose it.
