Buying guide
A halo is a ring of small stones set around the center. On an oval halo moissanite ring, it makes the center look wider and adds sparkle around its edge. Most designs here use one halo, and some add a second row for a larger outline. A few frame the halo with floral, filigree or milgrain detail for a vintage look.
Nearly every design sets pave lab-grown diamond accents along the band. Some split the shank into two strands near the center, which widens the top of the ring and gives the halo more presence. The gallery, the metal under the center, differs too: some are open, scalloped or looped, or cut with a heart shape you see from the side. Others keep a plain band so the halo stands out on its own.
Every design offers 1 to 9 carats total weight. Moissanite rates 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale, so it holds up well to daily wear, and it shows more colorful flashes of light than a diamond. Prices start under $350 at the smallest size, and most rings fall between about $800 and $1,000 at that size. Larger weights cost more.
