Buying guide
An oval infinity ring splits the band into strands that loop around each other near the center, forming a figure eight or a crossover. Most designs twist one strand of pave lab-grown diamond accents with one strand of polished metal, so the band shows both sparkle and shine. The twist leads the eye up to the oval and makes the ring look more detailed than a straight band.
Some designs keep a solitaire top, letting the twisted band do the decorating. Others set the oval in a halo, adding another frame of lab-grown diamond accents and making the center look bigger. A split shank version pairs the halo with a divided band. A solitaire top gives a lighter look; a halo top gives more sparkle.
Because the band twists, a straight wedding band may leave a small gap; a curved or matching twist band can sit closer. Gold designs come in 10K, 14K or 18K. Every design also comes for a fancy pink, yellow, green or blue center. Settings start under $400, and most are between about $1,150 and $1,500 for the setting alone; the center is priced when you choose it.
