Every setting here takes a marquise center you choose in the next step, in white, yellow or rose gold, platinum, or Silvadium, a tarnish-resistant sterling silver. Buying guide
On some settings the beads trace only the head around the marquise center. On others they run along both edges of the band, frame a halo, or appear twice in a double milgrain row. Because the marquise has two points, a milgrain halo follows its long outline closely and makes the center look larger. A milgrain marquise ring with a plain band shows the detail most clearly; with a pavé band it adds a vintage edge to the sparkle.
About half the settings are halos of lab-grown diamond accents, often with pavé on the band. Solitaires keep the marquise as the only large stone and let milgrain and engraving carry the design. Some settings add bezel-set accents, filigree galleries or floral shoulders, and a few are three stone or graduated designs, where accents step down in size along the band.
Most settings can hold a fancy blue, yellow, pink or green center, and some are made for a black center. Gold comes in 10K, 14K or 18K. Prices are for the setting only, from under $200 and mostly between about $750 and $1,250; the center is priced when you choose it.
