Buying guide
A twisted band is made of two strands of metal that wrap around each other or cross at the top of the finger. Some designs cross once below the center, some twist the full length of the band, and some weave the strands into a ribbon shape near the head. Each layout gives the ring a different rhythm from the side.
Most of these settings set pavé, small lab-grown diamond accents, along one or both strands. Some keep a solitaire head so the twist and the center stand out. A few add a halo of accents around the center or open the band into a split shank. Fancy blue, pink, yellow or green centers are offered on every design.
Twisted bands are often a little wider at the crossing point, so they can feel snug if you are between sizes. A contoured wedding band follows the twist and sits flush. Settings start under $400, and most cost between about $1,150 and $1,550; the price is for the setting, and the center is priced when you choose it.
