Buying guide

What a baguette cut adds

A baguette is a long, narrow step cut with straight sides and a flat table. It shows bright flashes of light in clean lines, where a round brilliant gives scattered sparkle. In these earrings the lab-grown diamond baguettes work as accents and outlines: tapered baguettes around a round center, baguettes fanned into a sunburst, or rows of them set end to end in a hoop. Mixing baguettes with round or princess cut lab-grown diamonds gives a piece both crisp lines and sparkle.

Studs or hoops

Most of the range is stud earrings. The cluster studs group several lab-grown diamonds into one shape, such as a snowflake, a mosaic of princess cuts and baguettes, or an angled cluster held by corner prongs. Staggered three stone and bar set horseshoe studs sit close to the ear and suit everyday wear. The hoops use channel settings, where the stones sit in a groove between two metal walls with no prongs to catch on hair or clothing. Some hoops grade their baguettes in size along the curve.

Choosing the gold and weight

Every design is made in white, yellow or rose gold, in 10K, 14K or 18K. White gold makes the lab-grown diamonds look icier, while yellow and rose gold add warmth around the stones. Higher karats hold more gold and a richer color; 10K and 14K are harder and wear well on pieces worn daily. Some designs let you choose the total weight of the lab-grown diamonds on the product page. Prices start under $300, and most pairs cost between about $600 and $700 at their smallest option.
