Two Hearts, One Promise

Gemstone Eternity Bands

Gemstone eternity bands set a continuous row of colored stones along the band. Most are half eternity rings, with stones across the top, and a few are full eternity bands with stones all the way around. Settings include shared prongs, claw prongs, channels and micro pave, in white, yellow or rose gold, platinum, or Silvadium, a tarnish-resistant sterling silver.

Buying guide

Half or full eternity

A half eternity band sets stones across the top half of the ring. It is the more comfortable choice next to an engagement ring, and its plain lower half can be resized. A full eternity band carries stones all the way around for color from every angle, but it must be ordered in the exact size because it can't be resized.

Stone shapes and settings

Round stones are the most common, but the range also includes marquise, princess and emerald-cut stones, a north-south emerald-cut band, and alternating pear and round or marquise and round vine patterns. Shared and claw prongs show the most of each stone. A channel set band holds the stones between smooth metal walls, which is easier on clothing. Twisted, infinity and knife-edge pave styles add a different profile.

Choosing the colored gemstone

  • Lab-grown ruby, emerald, and blue or pink sapphire.
  • Natural, treated: tanzanite, aquamarine, amethyst, citrine, garnet, peridot and blue topaz.

Lab-grown ruby and sapphire, at 9 on the Mohs scale, are the toughest choice for an eternity ring worn every day.

Total weight, metal and price

Most designs offer about 0.25 to 1 carat total weight, a few start at 0.15 carat, and a few go up to 5 to 7 carats. Gold comes in 10K, 14K or 18K. Prices start under $200, and most bands are between about $500 and $750 at their smallest option.

Made to order

Each band is made for you in 10–15 days. Shipping is free on orders over $500, returns are accepted within 30 days, and one resize is free within 60 days of delivery. Full eternity bands can't be resized: the one free size change means remaking the band.
