A halo is a ring of small stones set around the center. On this ring the halo is made of lab-grown diamonds, filigree openwork runs along the sides, and three rows of pave line the band, giving it a vintage look. The halo and pave add to the ring's total stone weight; the 1.5 carat figure is the radiant center alone.
A radiant cut has the square or rectangular outline of an emerald cut with trimmed corners, but it is faceted like a brilliant, so it gives strong sparkle. The cropped corners are less likely to chip than sharp ones. A halo traces that outline and makes the center look larger from above, while keeping its clean geometric lines.
Gold comes in 10K, 14K or 18K, in white, yellow or rose, and platinum is also offered. White gold and platinum match the white sparkle of the halo; yellow and rose gold add warm contrast around it. The band comes in 2 or 2.2 mm widths. Prices start from about $3,100 in the lowest-priced metal, with the lab-grown diamond center included.
