Diamond Shapes

Shape is the first thing people notice, and the most personal choice you'll make. Each silhouette has its own character — here's how they compare and which might suit you.

There are ten classic diamond shapes. The round brilliant is by far the most popular and the most sparkling, but the right shape is the one that speaks to you. Tap any shape below to see our collection.

The timeless classic

Round brilliant — 57 to 58 facets engineered for maximum light return, making it the most brilliant and the most enduring of all shapes. If sparkle is the priority, start here.

Shapes that elongate

Oval, pear and marquise cuts carry their weight across a longer surface, so they look larger per carat and elegantly lengthen the finger. The oval is a modern favourite — all the fire of a round, with a flattering, distinctive outline.

Step cuts & vintage character

Emerald and Asscher cuts use long, mirror-like facets for a calm, sophisticated flash of light rather than sparkle. Their open tables show a diamond's clarity, so we recommend a VS grade or better for these shapes.

Modern & romantic

Princess, cushion, radiant and heart cuts blend brilliance with personality — from the crisp, contemporary princess to the soft, pillowy cushion and the unmistakably romantic heart.

Choosing your shape

Pick the shape that suits the wearer's personality and hand. Elongated shapes (oval, pear, marquise) maximise apparent size; step cuts (emerald, Asscher) reward a higher clarity grade. Still unsure? Our specialists can show you each shape side by side.
