Buying guide
Prongs leave most of each lab-grown diamond open to light, so they show the most sparkle. A few designs use a bezel, a thin rim of white gold around each stone, or a channel or bar setting that holds the stones between walls of metal. Those settings sit smoother against clothing and protect the edges of the stones.
Carat options are the total weight of all three stones. Most designs offer 0.75 to 2 carats total weight, many go up to 3 carats, and some start at 0.25 or 0.35 carats. Prices start at about $600, and most pendants cost between about $700 and $780 at their smallest option. Lab-grown diamonds cost far less than natural diamonds of the same size.
