Buying guide
A halo is a frame of small stones around the center. On these rings it is made of lab-grown diamond accents, so the oval lab-grown sapphire sits inside a bright outline that makes it look larger and adds sparkle around the color. The oval shape itself is long and slim on the finger. A double halo adds a second row for a bolder look, and a few designs use a hidden halo under the center for a cleaner profile from the top.
Most designs pair the halo with a pave band. Some use a split shank, where the band divides as it meets the halo, and a few add floral, vintage, milgrain or twisted details. Gold comes in 10K, 14K or 18K.
Every design offers 1 to 9 carats total weight. Lab-grown sapphire is corundum, like natural sapphire, and rates 9 on the Mohs hardness scale, so it holds up to daily wear. Clean it with warm, soapy water and a soft brush. Prices start at about $300, and most rings are between about $800 and $1,000 at their smallest option.
