Pave sets rows of small stones close together, held by tiny beads or shared prongs, so the metal almost disappears behind the sparkle. On these rings, the pave accents are lab-grown diamonds. Pave can run along the shoulders, the whole band, a split shank or a halo around the center. Micro pave uses even smaller stones for a finer, closely packed line. Graduated pave starts larger near the center and narrows toward the back of the band.
Moissanite rates 9.25 on the Mohs scale, so it stands up well to daily wear, and it shows strong fire, flashing colored light. Every design offers 1 to 9 carats total weight, and band widths run from about 1.8 to 2.5 mm on most designs. Gold comes in 10K, 14K or 18K. Prices start under $300, and most rings are between about $750 and $1,050 at their smallest option.
