Marquise pave rings set a long, pointed center above a band lined with small lab-grown diamond accents. Many designs add a halo, many are solitaires, and others bring vintage milgrain, split shanks or twisted bands. Choose white, yellow or rose gold, Silvadium, a tarnish-resistant sterling silver, or platinum, which almost every design offers.

A marquise is a long oval with two pointed ends. Those tips are the thinnest part of the stone, so most settings hold each one with a V-shaped prong or a bezel tip. A halo adds another layer of metal and accents around the edge. When you compare pave marquise engagement rings, look at how the points are covered as well as how the band looks.
The marquise already makes the finger look longer, and a pave band adds a line of light that runs toward it. On a solitaire, the pave is the only other sparkle, so the shape of the center stays clear. A halo design with a pave band reads fuller and brighter. A marquise pave diamond ring with a split shank or twisted band gives more texture. Some designs add marquise, pear or baguette side stones, and listed band widths run from about 1.8 to 3 mm.
Gold comes in 10K, 14K or 18K white, yellow or rose gold. Platinum is naturally white and wears slowly, and silver keeps the price down. Most designs also take a fancy blue, green, yellow or pink marquise, and some take black. Settings start under $200, and most cost between about $750 and $1,200 for the setting alone. The center is chosen and priced in the next step.
