A Promise, Perfected

Marquise Aquamarine Rings

An aquamarine marquise ring sets a natural, treated aquamarine in the long, pointed marquise shape, which makes the finger look slimmer and the stone look larger. Choose solitaire, pave, halo, side stone, three stone and vintage styles, many with lab-grown diamond accents. Every design comes in white, yellow or rose gold, platinum, or Silvadium, a tarnish-resistant sterling silver.

Buying guide

Why the marquise shape suits aquamarine

A marquise cut is an elongated oval with two pointed ends. Its length spreads the stone across more of the finger, so a marquise cut aquamarine ring looks bigger than a round stone of the same weight. Aquamarine is a pale blue to blue-green member of the beryl family, rated 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale, so it handles daily wear well with normal care. The points are the most exposed part, so most settings protect them with prongs at each tip.

Solitaire, pave or halo

Many designs line the band with pave lab-grown diamond accents, and many others are solitaires that keep the focus on the aquamarine's color. Some add a halo of lab-grown diamonds around the center, side stones or a three stone layout, or a split shank. A few bring vintage milgrain, floral, bypass or twisted bands, or a hidden halo under the center. Every design is made as an aquamarine marquise engagement ring and wears just as well every day.

Carat weight, band and price

Every design offers 1 to 9 carats total weight, and bands are mostly 1.8 to 2.5 mm wide. White gold and platinum keep the blue cool and bright; yellow and rose gold give a warmer contrast. Gold comes in 10K, 14K or 18K. Silver is the most affordable metal. Prices start under $300, and most are between about $750 and $1,050.
