A chevron ring has a band that comes to a V at the top, so the center stone sits in the point of the V. This gold V-shaped ring shape echoes the outline of pear, marquise and heart centers, and it gives round and oval centers a more pointed, directional look. Because the band curves down, a matching wedding band usually needs its own curve or a small gap to sit beside it.
The band is set with small lab-grown diamond pave along the V, and the center sits alone as a solitaire. That keeps attention on the center while the pave adds sparkle at the sides. The ring is also made for fancy-color centers, such as yellow, blue, pink or green.
Yellow gold makes the V shape stand out most, white gold blends with the pave for an all-bright look, and rose gold adds warmth. A 14k gold chevron ring is a common middle choice between the softer 18K and the harder 10K. Settings start from about $1,100, and the price is for the setting; the center is priced when you choose it.
