Grace at the Wrist

Garnet Bracelets

This garnet bracelet is an in-line tennis bracelet: a single row of round, natural, treated garnets held in shared prongs, so the deep red stones sit close together around the wrist. It comes in 2 to 15 carats total weight. Choose white, yellow or rose gold, or Silvadium, a tarnish-resistant sterling silver. It makes an easy January birthstone gift and a warm color for everyday wear.

Finding Your Perfect Bracelet

Tennis vs. Bangle

A flexible tennis line drapes to the wrist for everyday sparkle; a rigid bangle makes a clean, sculptural statement.

Finding Your Fit

Measure your wrist and add ½–1 inch for comfort. Most styles are made to order — tell us your ideal length.

Carat & Sparkle

Total diamond weight is spread across the line — choose a delicate carat for subtlety or go bold for full brilliance.

Metal & Tone

White, yellow or rose gold, platinum or silver — pick a tone that flatters your skin and stacks with what you wear.

Buying guide

What makes a good garnet tennis bracelet

Garnet is the January birthstone and one of the most wearable colored gems. It rates about 6.5 to 7.5 on the Mohs hardness scale, hard enough for a bracelet worn often but softer than sapphire or diamond, so it can scratch if it rubs against harder stones. Look for an even, rich red from stone to stone: in a tennis bracelet the row reads as one line of color. Shared prongs hold each garnet with only a little metal between neighbors, which lets more of the stone show.

Choosing the metal

Yellow and rose gold bring out the warmth in red garnets and give the bracelet a classic look. White gold and silver cool the color and make the red stand out more sharply. Gold comes in 10K or 14K; 14K is a good balance of color and hardness for a piece that knocks against desks and bags. Silver is the lowest-priced choice. Prices start under $650, and most versions are about $1,600.

Wearing and caring for it

A tennis bracelet sits on the wrist bone and moves with you, so take it off for the gym, gardening and cleaning. Store it apart from harder jewelry so the garnets stay unscratched. Clean it in warm water with mild soap and a soft brush, then dry it with a soft cloth. Skip steam and ultrasonic cleaners, which can harm some gem treatments.
