A Promise, Perfected

Bar Set Rings

Bar set rings hold their side stones between thin metal bars, so each stone shows its full sides to the light. These bar set engagement rings pair your chosen center with bar-set lab-grown diamond accents, tapered baguettes or a three stone layout. Every style takes a round center and most take oval, cushion, emerald, princess, radiant, asscher, marquise, pear and heart shapes, in gold, platinum or Silvadium, a tarnish-resistant sterling silver.

Buying guide

How a bar setting holds stones

In a bar setting, a short strip of metal runs across the band between each pair of stones. Each bar grips the edge of two stones at once, and the sides of the stones stay open. Compared with prongs, there are fewer small tips to snag on clothing. Compared with a channel, more of each stone is visible from the side, so the accents pick up more light.

Styles in this collection

  • Round lab-grown diamond accents set in bars along the band, including a grooved band.
  • Tapered baguettes bar-set beside the center for a clean, geometric line.
  • A bar-set three stone engagement ring on a plain band.

Some settings also include marquise side stones. Most accept a fancy blue, pink, yellow or green center, chosen in the next step.

Metal and price

White, yellow and rose gold come in 10K, 14K or 18K. Platinum is naturally white and wears well every day. Silver is the lowest-cost option. Settings start under $500, and most are between about $1,450 and $1,600. This is the price of the setting; the center is priced when you choose it.

Made to order

Each ring is made for you in 10–15 days. Shipping is free on orders over $500, returns are accepted within 30 days, and one resize is free within 60 days of delivery.

Bar Set Rings FAQs

What is a bar set ring?

A bar set ring holds its stones between thin, straight bars of metal that cross the band, with each bar gripping the edges of two neighboring stones. The sides of the stones stay open, so more light reaches them than in a channel setting. In this collection the bars hold round lab-grown diamond accents or tapered baguettes beside the center, and some styles use bars in a three stone layout.
