Yellow gold comes in 10K, 14K or 18K. 18K has the deepest, richest color and the most gold. 10K is paler and the hardest of the three, and 14K is a common middle ground. Yellow gold does not need plating, so its color stays the same over time.

Solitaires come with a plain band or a pave band of small lab-grown diamond accents. The 5 carats is the center; accents add to the total.
Prices include the 5 carat lab-grown diamond center and the finished ring. They start from about $3,300 in the lowest karat, and most designs start between about $3,600 and $3,800. Higher karats and styles with more accents cost more.
