Buying guide
A solitaire has one main stone. Some keep the band plain so nothing competes with the center. Others add small lab-grown diamonds in a pavé band, a hidden halo under the center, or a graduated pavé band on a cathedral setting, where metal arches lift the center above the band. The ring still reads as a single-stone design, because the accents are small.
At the same weight, shapes look different in size. Long shapes such as oval, marquise and pear cover more of the finger than a round. Round and princess cuts give strong sparkle. Emerald and Asscher cuts have step facets that show long flashes of light and look clean and geometric. Cushion and radiant shapes sit between the two looks. Heart is the most playful choice.
Platinum is naturally white and dense, so it needs no plating and holds prongs firmly. It slowly develops a soft matte finish that a jeweler can polish away. Bands in this collection are slim, from about 1.8 to 2.5 mm wide depending on the style. The 1 carat figure is the center alone; any accents are extra, on top of the center's weight.
Each ring is made for you in 10–15 days. Shipping is free on orders over $500, returns are accepted within 30 days, and one resize is free within 60 days of delivery.
Prices start from about $1,650, and most cost between about $1,700 and $2,200. That price covers the finished platinum ring with its 1 carat lab-grown diamond center set and ready to wear. Plain bands are usually the most affordable, while pavé, hidden halo and cathedral styles cost more because they carry extra small lab-grown diamonds.
