Buying guide
An oval has brilliant facets like a round, so it sparkles strongly, but its longer outline covers more of the finger. A 1 carat oval solitaire lab-grown diamond ring therefore looks larger than a round of the same weight and makes the hand look longer. Ovals can show a darker bow-tie shape across the middle; a well-cut stone keeps it faint.
A thin plain band keeps the oval the clear focus and makes it look larger, and a rounded plain band feels smooth on the finger. A pave band adds small lab-grown diamonds along the top. The hidden halo sets a ring of small stones beneath the center, seen from the side, so the top still reads as a classic 1 carat oval solitaire ring. The cathedral design raises the oval on arches over a graduated pave band.
Platinum is naturally white and costs more than gold. Gold comes in 10K, 14K or 18K white, yellow or rose gold. Most rings are priced between about $975 and $1,100 in the lowest-priced metal, center included. Pave, hidden halo and cathedral styles add small accent stones beyond the center.
Each ring is made for you in 10–15 days. Shipping is free on orders over $500, returns are accepted within 30 days, and one resize is free within 60 days of delivery.
