A halo is a frame of small stones around the center. On a 1.5 carat lab-grown diamond halo ring it spreads the sparkle outward, so the top of the ring looks larger than the center by itself. The halo and three-row pave band add to the ring's total stone weight; the 1.5 carat figure is the center stone's weight. The filigree sides make this a vintage 1.5 carat lab-grown diamond ring in feel, while the center stays the focus.
Round, oval, cushion, princess, emerald, radiant, Asscher, pear, marquise and heart centers are offered, and the halo traces each outline. Round and radiant cuts give the brightest sparkle. Oval, pear and marquise look longer on the hand at the same weight. Emerald and Asscher step cuts show broad, mirror-like flashes, and cushion and heart bring a softer outline.
Gold comes in 10K, 14K or 18K, in white, yellow or rose, and platinum is also offered. The band comes in 2 or 2.2 mm widths. Prices start from about $3,100 in the lowest-priced metal, with the lab-grown diamond center included.
